Gathering

:: The 7-day count down has begun to our due date of baby. Of course we hope the day will come sooner, especially after having experienced 12 hours of what appeared progressive labor just one week ago. Thank-you to Tami for her encouragement through delicious homemade pitas (WE Quite Enjoyed them to the last crumb)! Well at least it was the kick in the pants we needed to help us compile our home birth supplies.
Supplies Gathered and Gathering

  • 20" deep inflated kiddy pool (those soft sides are to die for during hard labor)
  • 1 or 2 new plastic table cloths/shower curtains
  • 2 sets of sheets
  • 6 towels
  • 4 face cloths
  • 8+ receiving blankets
  • 2 large bowls/pails
  • 1 roll or toilet paper
  • baby wipes
  • 2 garbage bags
  • hydrogen peroxide
  • large Ziploc bag (for placenta)
  • women's cloth/mama pads
  • washed baby clothes
:: It's incredible how TINY those newborn clothes are! I forget.....just like I forget those contractions, a few months after they happen...
:: The "little" wardrobe is begging for a couple of new pieces, chosen or made especially for this new little individual. Above is one new addition (if baby should be a girl), inspired by Rima's post; Bombay Love (Thank-you for the pattern - this is most likely the start of many similar ones to come!)
This 'little's' made with some scrap ends of skeins of wool/marino. Selah (4), is now asking for one too. Maybe in a month or so I'll tackle the math of transposing one to her size.
