Yes, how did I dry this, is the question. I asked myself that. A little while back my dehydrator shorted and it melted, sadly. Now, less a the proper tool, I thought I'd put it in the oven on the lowest setting....and then the light in my head went on - "oh ya, this is my 'one small change' addition this month"! I assume that my ovens do pull A LOT of power. So I changed the regime - when I'm pulling something out of my oven - in go my peels, to soak up the drying heat while the oven cools s l o w l y - because it is an old oven! Thanks for asking

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThis is off topic of your post but my laptop is not allowing me to link to your email, so I thought I'd comment here...I am sorry you did not win my giveaway but I so much wanted to tell you how moved I was by your dog story. I love animals so much and had a beloved golden retriever for 15 years. I have no doubt that dog knew exactly where to find you. I love stories about the human-animal bond. What a lovely, sweet, moving story. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Love, Rosamund
you are too sweet for answering my question!
ReplyDeletei made dried orange slices that i hung with ribbon on our christmas tree this past december and dried them at the lowest setting in the oven cringing the whole time thinking eek i really do not like having it on for so long! i am pleased to hear your creative solution and look forward to trying some orange tea too!!! : ) xo
That's a great idea, thanks so much for sharing. Catherine x
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing your dried orange peels, I decided to try it to. My husband put them in a colander on top of a heat register and they dried very quickly. I never would have done that, but it worked. Obviously we have no animals or crawling children.
