This mug is very special to me.
It is my favorite mug by far.
If you come to my house for tea or a cup of coffee, particularly at a time when you and I are the only adults, I will always offer you your choice of mug or tea cup. It is a part of the beautiful ritual of drinking something hot together. Choosing which mug you find most identity with or beauty or whatever!
I hope my post is not too emotionally loaded, but it is a little something that is special that I wanted to share with you today!
Blessings on this Friday before some very special celebrations next week.
I think your post is perfect and I love your dad's cup and I love that you would let your friends choose. So nice.
ReplyDeletecongratulations on accomplishing your 5 challenge! I've really enjoyed your posts this week as always!
ReplyDeleteI love that ritual, It makes me swell to look for my mug at your house. hearts to you my friend. you did it!
ReplyDeleteYou can be as emotional as you like here. It's your blog after all.
ReplyDeleteAlthough my own mugs all match in a boring fashion, I do think that mismatched mugs gathered over the years show personality. Your mug reminds me of the heavy, smooth mugs in old diners that are nice to drink out of.
I have an assortment of mugs as well, and I agree with you on mug selection... it's special.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as that was a shaving mug, I have a related memento from my father, who passed away many years ago: his razor, which I've regularly used. It's special to me. :)
Thanks for sharing your favorite mug with us. I only got to know you and your mom & dad in the 90s and on, so I only know your dad as he is now. I have heard from some of how smart and bright your dad is. I wish I could have known him pre-accident. Your mom certainly has her reward waiting for her in heaven for doing such a fine job of taking care of all of you over the years. Thanks again for sharing this special place in your heart. It's very precious.
