Today's Show and Tell

The milk is warmed, and now just cooling for this week's batch of yogurt.  Finally I soaked some black and white beans overnight, and am planning on putting together this Feta, Sun Dried Tomato, Bean Loaf.  We'll see how this first attempt will turn out!

A simplified variation of the Three Bean Terrine from Full of Beans

4 1/2 C. cooked beans (kidney, white, or whatever)
1/2. C. crumbled Feta (I'm doing a homemade ricotta instead, fairly different, but oh well)
1/4 C. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 Eggs
1/4C. Sour Cream
300 g Spinach or similar Greens
2 tsp. Lemon Juice
1/4 tsp each of Salt, ground Nutmeg, ground Thyme and fresh ground Black Pepper
1/2 tsp each dried Basil and Chili Powder
3 Tbsp. chopped Sun-Dried Tomatoes
2 Tbsp. Millet
1 Tbsp. chopped Walnuts or Almonds
1 1/2 tsp Yeast Extract (Marmite) - I'm going to use Braggs and Worcester Sauce instead
2 cloves Garlic

Grease loaf pan, and line bottom only with waxed paper cut to fit. Blend all ingredients in a food processor, scraping sides down frequently. Spread in loaf pan. Bake in preheated 350 F (180 C) oven in a pan of water for 1 hour 15 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 10 min. Turn out onto serving platter.

My mom sent me this encouraging video recently; enjoy!

Now, do you want a bicycle powered grain mill as much as I do? Or what about some sort of bicycle powered power source for the coffee grinder, grain mill, food processor and blender?
