my soapbox for today

Hard to believe this is 4 years ago, baby #1, Selah (before i started using the wrap w/Joash). She's such an old girl now, and my number one helper around the house - I know that I'm going to really appreciate that in about 7 weeks when our newest addition arrives. Presently planning our 3rd homebirth, and the first in our own place. (Baby #1 was at my parents, and Baby #2 was planned and birthed at a friends).
These days I'm tired and always slightly irritable - I was just telling someone recently that with the last 2 babies, I found that edge of irritability left as soon as I gave birth...So as I encourage the "littles" to have a good attitude - I must push through....So perhaps I'll vent a little here! Recently our supplier of "Real Milk" got their dairy supplies shut down...to say I'm bummed about that would be an understatement! We were getting our milk, butter, yogurt and cheese from them. After searching for more than 2 years for nutrient rich, healing dairy products for my family - we were both blessed and ecstatic to come upon them. (I will try my hardest not to preach on the benefits of raw milk and the poison of pasteurized milk - besides the fact that there is little nutritional value in pasteurized b/c the enzyme that would help us get the nutrients is destroyed through pasteurization. Thus the only countries in the world with Osteoporosis and other Calcium deficient diseases are countries where they pasteurize the milk. And NA happens to have the highest rate of these diseases in the world).
It is a good thing I do not know the culprit who brought this about with our suppliers. Because he would get a piece of my mind! So as we have a lead or 2 for our next raw adventure - I feel much more guarded and protective of our healing foods - I did before - but now even more....It's really hard for me to have the attitude that folks like the govt. or dairy board have our best interest in mind when there research is dinosaur and based more on economics then the health of the people.
sorry to be preachy - but it is a personal blog!
blessings!

  2. Patty Jean- hello. I haven't talk with you in ages but was happy to see you still blogging. That's sad about your milk. My sister says her only idea for getting milk that she's heard of it to buy half a cow....she doesn't know how to buy half a cow so she hasn't yet.

As for the irritation lately. Hopefully it all turns out like it did in previous pregnancies.

I'd love to come and visit you and your littles again soon. But I think it's getting close to birth for you and I may have to wait awhile now.
    I hope you're well.
    I am.

  3. Good to hear from you Glenda!

Yes - a cow share, we have explored it and continue to. Even that is still under much criticism from govt. and diary boards though sadly.
