I need, I make; is my crafting moto!
We have a dear friend, whom I've known since I was a wee lass - She is like an aunt to me - and she is a "gorilla gardener"! In her 60's she travels about the old parts of our city on her bicycle with a basket, digging up perrenials in empty lots and replanting them on bulivards and what not. The empty lot across the street from her tall white character home, has become one large vegtable garden, where she teaches children in the neighborehood how to plant, keep and harvest the garden. The entrance to the garden has a handpainted sighn; Guerrila Garden!
Speaking of Guerrila - here is some garilla knitting I discovered on Main St. in our city! I love these random acts of art!
Wow, what a neat thing to stumble upon. I especially love the colors
ReplyDeleteHow very cool!
ReplyDeleteThis knitting was done by the fine folks at MAWA (Mentoring Artists for Women's Art) as part of their monthly Stitch n' Bitch meetings. Pink and orange are their org's colours. Fun times there on the first Saturday of every month, I believe. www.mawa.ca
