Good Old Fashioned Fun

The highlight of our Christmas season has been the more relaxed schedule that my husband has had - our whole family has enjoyed this! Thus earlier this week, we loaded up the 'littles' and headed off to the park for some tobogganing and skating!  I not really thrilled about taking the 1.5 year old down the hill, so while Papa and the two older ones hit the hill, the youngest and I high hit the ice - no not literally;)

With my husband's hockey skates and the babe in the sleigh we took off to the ice rink and frozen creek.  I had such a blast, I was sorry that we don't do this every day!  There was a season in my life where I went cross country skiing 5 days a week - what a joy - refreshing - invigorating - beautiful exertion! I was feeling the same!

A dear friend of mine has 3 of her children in a rural one-room school house style Mennonite School ( it may be 2 rooms - nevertheless, you get the picture).  Outdoors there is a skating rink, and every day they skate!  What an awesome addition to a quaint school experience; to skate at morning break, lunch and afternoon break. Those children must sleep amazingly!

What kind of outdoor on indoor winter activities do you enjoy?
